The #2 in 1A Newell Fonda girls started Friday’s Twin Lakes Conference doubleheader with an 84-44 win over Alta Aurelia.
The Mustangs never trailed, went on a 15-0 run late in the 2nd quarter, and led 51-21 at halftime.
Kinzee Hinders topped Newell Fonda with 21 points, Kierra Jungers had 20, and McKenna Sievers added 10. The Mustangs hit nine from downtown.
Nora Peterson had 17 for the Warriors.
Newell Fonda improves to 17-1 and 10-0 in the Twin Lakes, clinching at least a share of the conference crown. Alta Aurelia goes to 10-10, and finish 4-7 in the conference.

The Newell Fonda boys rolled to a 78-59 win over Alta Aurelia.
There was one tie and three lead changes in the first few minutes. Newell Fonda took the lead for good at 9-7 and led 22-13 after the 1st quarter. The Mustangs were up by as many as 16 in the 1st half, including 38-22 at the break.
The Warriors got within ten during the 3rd, but a three at the buzzer put the Newell Fonda lead at 16 again, 56-40, going to the 4th, and Alta Aurelia didn’t get any closer than 14 from that point.
Max Carlson poured in a career-high 24 in the Mustangs win. Mason Hoberman contributed 18, and Jacksyn Hogrefe scored 12. Newell Fonda hit nine threes.
The Warriors also had three in double-figures including Jack Bloom with 18, Adam Stephan 15, and Cameron Stites had 11.
The Newell Fonda boys are now 10-8, 6-4 TLC, dropping Alta Aurelia to 11-8, and they finish 6-5 in the conference.
