Although we’re almost two weeks into the spring season, winter-like weather could be on the horizon.
The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for Buena Vista and surrounding counties from late tonight (Fri) through early tomorrow (Sat) morning.
There are slight chances of thunderstorms in the Storm Lake area. Rain is in the forecast, with the best chance of rain tonight. Freezing rain is possible this evening, which could lead to a trace of ice accumulation. Temperatures will drop throughout today, and will fall into the mid-20’s tonight. With that, snow and sleet should arrive late tonight, with less than an inch of accumulation expected in the area.
The wind will increase as today progresses, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour expected late tonight. Wind Advisories have been issued for counties including Sac and Calhoun from 1pm today (Fri) until 7am tomorrow, as gusts could reach 55 miles per hour.
