Drought Conditions Nearly Eliminated in Northwest Iowa

Recent rainfall has been a big plus, as the latest Iowa Drought Monitor released late last week shows very little drought in northwest Iowa.

The map showed Abnormally Dry conditions in parts of Buena Vista, Clay, Sac, and Palo Alto Counties, and in all of Pocahontas County. Calhoun County had a mixture of Moderate Drought and Abnormally Dry.

The latest map showed 70 percent of the state was experiencing some level of drought, down nearly seven percent from the previous week.

57 hundredths of an inch of rain was measured outside the Storm Lake Radio stations over the weekend.
