Two Injured in Cherokee County Crash

A two-vehicle accident in Cherokee County late last week resulted in both drivers getting injured.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 4pm Friday on Highway 3 east of Lewis Avenue. 30-year-old Konrad Campe of Meridan was driving a 2002 Buick Park Avenue east on Highway 3 through Cleghorn, and 21-year-old Jocee Roberts of Marcus was driving a 2013 Ford Focus west on the highway. According to an eyewitness, Campe’s vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason, and collided with Roberts’ vehicle. Campe’s vehicle came to rest on the south shoulder, and Roberts’ vehicle came to rest on the north shoulder.

Campe and Roberts were both wearing seat belts. They were transported by Cherokee County EMS to area hospitals. Roberts was taken to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
