A teen has been charged and others are being sought in connection to illegal entry of vehicles and garages in an area of Storm Lake.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers responded to the area of the 800 block of Lily Court at around 1am this (Mon) morning. Police were able to obtain a description of several of the suspects and began a search of the area. During the search, officers located a 15-year-old male from Storm Lake walking in the area who matched the suspect description. The teen was positively identified by witnesses and also showed signs of alcohol intoxication.
The 15-year-old was issued juvenile referrals for 2nd Degree Burglary, a class C felony…3rd Degree Burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor…and Public Intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. The teen was released to the custody of the Cherokee Youth Emergency Services Center for placement.
Witnesses claimed that a group of individuals illegally entered into garages and vehicles in the area of the 800 block of Lily Court. Police searched the area but were unable to locate any further suspects at that time.
