A man was charged in connection to a hit-and-run accident in Royal last week.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in the 300 block of Main Street in Royal shortly before 3:40pm last Monday, February 5th. An investigation determined that a red pickup driven by 83-year-old Roger Zieman of Royal had sideswiped another pickup that was legally parked, and then backed up and into another vehicle that was also legally parked. Zieman then left the scene.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Zieman was charged with Driving Under Suspension and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
