More Snow on the Horizon

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Storm Lake area until 6am Friday.

The forecast says three to four inches of snow is expected in the area this afternoon into the evening. Plan on slippery road conditions which could impact the evening commute. Information on statewide road conditions can be obtained by calling 5-1-1, or go to www.511ia.org.

It will be getting quite cold again soon, with the temperature falling below zero overnight tonight with the wind gusting into the mid 20’s. The high temp tomorrow (Fri) should barely get above zero, and will plummet to around 20 below zero Friday night, with a high around zero for Saturday.

The cold spell will be short-lived, with the temperature expected to get into the 20’s Sunday, and 30’s expected throughout the next work week.
