Pilot Rock DAR Chapter Awards Program to be Held in February

The Pilot Rock Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter’s awards program will be held early next month.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, February 4th starting at 1:30pm at the Sanford Museum in Cherokee. The public is invited. The program will spotlight area youth and adults.

The Pilot Rock DAR Chapter will be presenting Good Citizen Awards to area high school seniors. The DAR Good Citizen program and Scholarship Contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. Students from Alta Aurelia, Cherokee, MMC-RU, Ridge View, River Valley, and Sioux Central will be recognized.

The Cherokee County Fair Association will receive a Historic Preservation Award for their efforts during the 2023 Centennial Fair to preserve agricultural history in Cherokee County. Cherokee Regional Hospice Volunteer and Vet to Vet volunteer Elizabeth Johnson will receive a National Community Service Award. There will be other awards presented at the event as well.
