The Storm Lake Tornado boys soccer squad fell in the season opener 3-1 at home to the Sioux Center Warriors
The first half saw a good defensive battle as the teams held each other scoreless. The Tornadoes would change that when Saul Rosales sent a pass into the top of the goal box and a Warrior defender accidentally tapped in an own goal to give the Tornadoes a 1-0 lead. The Tornadoes would lead 1-0 at the halftime break. The Warriors would open up the second half by scoring three goals in the first 14 minutes of the second half en route to a 3-1 win.
The Tornadoes fell to 0-1, the Warriors improved to 2-0. Up next the Tornadoes hit the road to battle Sioux City North on Thursday night.
