Storm Lake Soccer teams fall to Humboldt

The Storm Lake Tornado teams fell to the Humboldt Wildcats with the girls falling 6-2 in Storm Lake and the 3A #11 boys falling 1-0 in overtime at 3A #3 Humboldt

The 3A #11 Tornadoes and 3A #3 Wildcats would be everything it was thought to be as the teams would end in a 1-0 Wildcat overtime win. The Wildcats would have big time offensive pressence as the Tornadoes would have their back against the wall. However, the Tornadoes would be excellent on defense taking away many great goal scoring chances. The Tornadoes would have a goal disallowed with under 20 seconds to go in the half. The second half would see the Tornadoes play with the wind and have more success on the offensive side. The Tornadoes would get their own chances but both defenses would be on display as the game went scoreless to the end of regulation. The bend don’t break defense for the Tornadoes would allow a Wildcat goal with 2:20 to go in overtime as the Wildcats won 1-0.

3A #3 Wildcats now 6-0, 3A #11 Tornadoes now 3-3

The Storm Lake Girls fell to the Wildcats 6-2. The Wildcats would build a 4-0 lead at the halftime. In the second half the Wildcats would add a couple of tallies, however the Tornadoes would strike as well as Nelly Cortes scored two. Collecting one on a PK and another later in the half. With the loss the Tornadoes now sit at 1-5

Also the Storm Lake JV boys fell 1-0 and now have a 2-1 record
