East Sac County Girls use rally to knock off Kuemper, Boys fall late 1-0

The East Sac County Raiders girls soccer team picked up a 4-3 come from behind win at Kumeper Catholic Knights

The first half saw a defensive battle in the first half. Kumper was able to connect on an early goal 12 minutes into the match to lead 1-0. The Raiders would have a quick answer just two minutes later when Cora Mahler scored a goal assisted by Kenna Meyer to tie the game at 1. Kuemper would strike again with 19 minutes to go in the half to regain the lead 2-1. The Knights would add one more to take a 3-1 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half the Raiders would swiftly cut into the lead when Meyer would add a goal to her line to cut the lead to 3-2 with just six minutes gone in the second half. Later on in the half Kenna Meyer would connect on a PK with 26 minutes to go as the Raiders would tie the game at 3 all. The Raiders would get the game winning goal with five minutes to go to complete the comeback, and Meyer would complete the hat-trick. The Raiders would end up on top 4-3.

The Raiders pick up their first win of the season and sit 1-3, Kuemper falls to 1-4. Raider stats: Kenna Meyer hat-trick (3 goals) and an assist, Cora Mahler 1 goal and Danae Thayer with 15 saves

The boys game saw a major defensive battle. Both teams would get chances in the first half as the teams would go to the break tied at 0. The second half saw the teams go scoreless for the first half of the second frame. The Knights would get the only goal of the match with 20 minutes to go in the game. The Knights would hang on to get the 1-0 win. The Raiders fall to 1-3, the Knights improve to 1-6
