The Storm Lake Police Department has arrested an Alta man following a belated report of a sexual assault that investigators say occurred nearly a year ago.
Police say the report came in on Monday from a victim who alleged that in May of 2025, 31‑year‑old Joshua Quezada used force to commit a sexual act against the victim while at Classic Tattoo on Cayuga Street in Storm Lake. The incident had not been reported to law enforcement until this week.
Following the report, Storm Lake investigators reviewed the allegation and obtained an arrest warrant for Quezada. Police say he surrendered himself at the Buena Vista County Jail yesterday (Thursday) morning.
Quezada is charged with third‑degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
This week’s arrest is separate from a case reported earlier this week, in which Quezada was taken into custody less than 24 hours after a different victim alleged he used force to commit a sexual act at a home on Cayuga Street. In that case, he was also charged with third‑degree sexual abuse.
The Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office is assisting with both investigations, which remain ongoing.
