A sexual assault reported last week in Storm Lake led to the arrest of an Alta man less than 24 hours later.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, the report came in on Wednesday from a victim who alleged that 31‑year‑old Joshua Quezada used force to commit a sexual act against the victim’s will at a home on Cayuga Street.
The SLPD investigated the allegation and identified Quezada as the suspect. At about 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, officers found him in the 800 block of Lake Avenue and arrested him without incident.
Quezada is charged with third‑degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
The Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
