Storm Lake residents will have a chance to learn more about the next phase of the Oneida Street reconstruction project during a public information event next week.
The City of Storm Lake, along with Bolton & Menk Engineering, will host the session from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Chautauqua Park shelter house. Project staff will outline what the Phase 2 work will involve, including property impacts, access needs, construction timing and how the project will affect day‑to‑day travel in the neighborhood.
The second phase focuses on rebuilding the south portion of Oneida Street and upgrading key underground utilities. Plans call for replacing the sanitary sewer, improving sections of the water main and installing a new storm sewer system designed to move stormwater efficiently to Storm Lake through Chautauqua Park.
City officials say the improvements are aimed at keeping the area’s infrastructure safe, reliable and prepared for future needs. Project representatives will be available throughout the event to answer questions from residents.
