Workshop Offered as Part of Upcoming Consumer Protection Week

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a workshop to coincide with the upcoming Consumer Protection Week.

The workshop is titled “Stay Independent : Spot, Stop, and Avoid Fraud.” The workshop is being offered as part of ISU Extension’s Healthy Aging Series which is meant for adults age 60 and over, as well as their caregivers. It will focus on identifying warning signs of common scams and reviewing ways to protect a person’s finances.

Several fraud-related topics will be included in the free online workshop including how to identify frauds and scams, why older Iowans are targeted more, fraud and scam warning signs, and ways to protect yourself.

Consumer Protection Week is March 3rd through the 9th. Find information on the workshop by clicking here, or contact your local Extension office.
