East Sac County Soccer Teams Split Games at Carroll

–On a windy evening in Carroll the East Sac County Raider Soccer Teams split against the Carroll Tigers with the Raider Girls winning 7-0, and the Tiger boys winning 1-0 in 2OT/PK

–The girl’s game saw an offensive explosion from the Raiders in the first seven minutes of the game. The Raiders would strike in the first three minutes of the game when Kenna Meyer gave the Raiders the early 1-0 lead. Under 90 seconds later Meyer would add another as the Raiders would lead 2-0 with 35:53 to go in the first half. Chloe Bieret would find the back of the net 2:56 later to extend the Raider lead to 3-0 with 32:57 to go. The teams would exchange chances however nobody would score the rest of the half as the Raiders lead 3-0 at the break. The Raiders would set the tone in the second half when Hannah Pudenz tallied her second of the season in just 66 seconds as the Raiders went up 4-0. Bieret would have a busy second half after that when she tallied two goals (for the hat trick) and added an assist on the Meyer goal (Meyer hat trick). The Raiders would go on to win 7-0.

The win improved the Raiders to 5-4, and the Tigers fell to 1-11. Raider stats: Meyer 3 goals, Bieret 3 goals + 1 assist, Pudenz 1 goal, and Melodee Rench and Denae Thayer combine for the shutout.

–The Boy’s game saw the Raiders play in their second consecutive game that went the full 100 minutes + PK’s. The Raiders and Tigers would both have pushes in the opening half but neither would break the ice as the teams went to the half tied at 0. The second half saw the teams again go toe-to-toe as the teams would leave the full 80 minutes of regulation tied at 0. The Raiders would start the first overtime with their back to the wind and would get a strong push but would not be able to score. This led to the teams still knotted up at 0 going into the second overtime. The second overtime saw the Tigers kick the ball too long and the teams ended the 100 minutes of 2 halves plus 2 overtime periods tied at 0. That would send the teams to PK’s.

In PK’s the Raiders would shoot first. Isaiah Aragon couldn’t connect on the PK, the Tiger keeper Tanner Heithoff would miss high as the teams were tied 0-0 after PK round one. For the Raider Brendyn Conn would take the second attempt and it would be no good, the Tigers would break through when Jameson Polking found the back and the Tigers went up 1-0 after round two. Round three for the Raiders saw Riley Aragon find the back of the net, and the Tigers would answer when Elias Villanueva also scored. The PK score was 2-1 Tigers after three rounds. Round four saw Luke Wright get denied by Heithoff before the Tigers would win the game when Landon Petersen found the back of the net as the Tigers would win 3-1 after round four.

The win improved the Tigers to 3-7 (ending a five-game losing streak), and the Raiders fell to 3-3.
