Tour Given of New Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Rehab Center

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City earlier this week commemorated the completion of the Macke Rehabilitation Center.

The facility is a gift from long-time Lake City residents Gus and Nancy Macke. Stewart Memorial rehab services members, Graham construction crew, and members of the community joined the Macke’s as they toured the facility for the first time on Tuesday. The new facility features private treatment rooms, natural lighting, a basketball hoop, and an array of exercise and therapy equipment.

The Macke Rehabilitation Center was completed as part of the second phase of Stewart Memorial Community Hospital’s “Putting People First Renovation and Expansion” campaign. “Putting People First” is a 31-million dollar project which broke ground in 2020, with the purpose of improving efficiency, safety, security, and privacy throughout the hospital. Through the campaign, SMCH patients will be offered the best facilities and care, and employees will be able to provide that care with the best technology and equipment available.

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital has a highly qualified and experienced staff of four physical therapists, three speech therapists, and two occupational therapists. Learn more or schedule an appointment by calling 712-464-4244.
