The inaugural Storm Lake Multicultural Festival and Mini Pitch Soccer Field Dedication have been moved from Saturday of this weekend to this Sunday, September 11th due to the threat of rain.
The dedication of the mini pitch in Chautauqua Park will begin at noon on Sunday with a ceremonial ball drop. That will be followed by a demonstration game at 12:30, and a youth skills clinic will be from 1 to 2pm. There will be soccer ball and t-shirt giveaways.
The Multicultural Festival will be from noon to 3pm, also in Chautauqua Park. Food and vendors will be available. There will be musical entertainment with singing and dancing, and open mic/open stage will also be offered.
Below is the schedule for both events.
Multicultural Festival…
Noon-3 – food and vendors booths open. Visitors will be able to sample Latin, Asian and American foods. Among the providers is Torta Don Pancho Food Truck, Our Daily Bread with Chicago-style food, El Salvador Papusas and others.
Entertainment Schedule:
Noon-1 p.m. – Music in the park (playlist features music from many of the cultures represented in Storm Lake.
1 p.m. – Rose Phi performing a traditional Laotian dance
1:30 p.m. – Selena Gonzales singingSi Una Vez
2 p.m. – El Salvadorian Dance Group
2:15-3 p.m. – Open mic/open stage
Mini Pitch Dedication…
