Storm Lake LifeServe February Blood Drives Recap

A total of 64 units of blood were collected at two LifeServe Blood Center blood drives in Storm Lake earlier this month.

The amount of blood collected has the ability to save up to 192 local lives. The blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center, as well as over 150 other hospitals served by LifeServe.

Several local donors hit milestones with their most recent donation. Pamela Tidemann has now donated 11 gallons of blood…Cherri Driver nine gallons…Joseph Hanson and Angela Siefken seven gallons…and Nolan Nguyen, Paula Suarez, and Lyle Morse have all donated one gallon of blood.

The public is welcome to donate blood at three LifeServe drives scheduled in Storm Lake during March including Tuesday, March 5th from 12:30 to 5:30pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church…Friday, March 15th from 9am to 1pm at the United Methodist Church…and Tuesday, March 19th from 10am to 2:30pm at Buena Vista University. A private blood drive will also be held on Wednesday, March 13th at Storm Lake St. Mary’s school.
