Spencer Teen Arrested Last Week on Drug-Related Charges

A teenage girl was arrested on drug-related charges in Clay County last week.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a traffic stop was initiated last Wednesday, February 15th in the 32-hundred mile of Highway 71. Upon making contact with the juvenile, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, the deputy located methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The girl, who is from Spencer, was transported to the Clay County Jail without incident.

The girl was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, both serious misdemeanors…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. She was cited into Juvenile Court, and was released to the custody of her father.
