The Spencer Community School District has been awarded a “Credentials to Careers” grant to support high school students earning credentials with labor market value.
The one-time grants are made possible by the Iowa Department of Education. Director McKenzie Snow says they help connect the classroom to the workforce.
Spencer was one of 20 districts in Iowa awarded a combined $1.7 million in competitive grants through the program. Grants will be distributed this spring for district implementation in the 2024-2025 school year.
