A kickoff fundraiser event for the Newell Pool Project is scheduled this coming weekend.
The fundraiser will be this coming Saturday, April 20th at 5pm in the Newell Golf Course Clubhouse. A free-will donation pulled pork sandwich meal will be served from 5 to 7pm. Meals will be available to go.
Pool Committee representative Sierra Olsen says there will also be a puzzle and pub event…
Preregister for the puzzle and pub on the Newell Pool Project Facebook page, or pick up a form at Newell City Hall or the library.
Olsen says a raffle will also be held…
The raffle drawing will be Saturday at 8pm. Presale tickets are available now, and they can also be purchased at the fundraiser leading up to the drawing. One raffle ticket costs ten dollars, or purchase four for 35 dollars.
The original municipal pool in Newell that opened in 1956 closed last June after it fell into disrepair, and Olsen says they hope to get a new pool as soon as possible…
Newell Pool Project-themed koozies can also be purchased at Saturday’s event. More events are planned this summer.
The Newell Pool Committee has been meeting since August of last year.
