Man Charged With Entering Storm Lake Home Without Permission and Trespassing on Other Property

A Storm Lake man was arrested last week on multiple charges for allegedly breaking into a residence and other facilities.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to the area of Park Court in Storm Lake around 6pm last Wednesday, April 24th on a report of a suspect trespassing. A resident claimed that earlier that morning a man identified as 25-year-old Luis Rodriguez Garcia entered the home without permission. Rodriguez Garcia fled on foot after he was confronted by the homeowner. Police allege Rodriguez Garcia came back to the home that evening. Police took Rodriguez Garcia into custody without incident. He was allegedly wearing property that was stolen from the home on Park Court.

Further investigation was conducted, and police allege that Rodriguez Garcia also trespassed last Wednesday on property owned by Buena Vista University in the 800 block of West 4th Street, and a garage at a residence in the 700 block of Early Street in Storm Lake.

Rodriguez Garcia was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a class C felony…three counts of Trespassing 1st Offense, a simple misdemeanor…and 5th Degree Theft, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a ten thousand dollar bond.
