A Sioux Rapids man was arrested on multiple charges last week following a traffic stop.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated the traffic stop for a speeding violation shortly before 5:30pm last Thursday at the 49 hundred mile of Highway 71. An investigation determined that the driver, 41-year-old Jesus Ferro of Sioux Rapids, had a suspended driver’s license. Ferro was taken into custody and upon further investigation, he was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Ferro was booked into the Clay County Jail without incident, and was released after posting bond. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a serious misdemeanor…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under Suspension, No Driver’s License, Speeding, No Insurance, and Operating Without Registration, all simple misdemeanors.
