Lakeside Man Sentenced to Prison for Cocaine Delivery

A Lakeside man was sentenced last week in Buena Vista County District Court to serve up to ten years in prison on a drug-related charge.

27-year-old Idris Keyanye entered a guilty plea for the crime of Delivery of Cocaine, a class C felony. The prison term will be served at the Iowa Department of Corrections.

Keyanye was arrested in August of 2022 following a noise complaint at 720 1/2 Cayuga Street in Storm Lake. He was found to be wanted on several BV County warrants. Keyane was charged with several Failure to Appear warrants, including three for Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. He was also taken into custody on a BV County warrant for Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Institution in which he had drugs concealed in his socks during an arrest in August of 2021. Another warrant stemmed from an incident in August of 2021 regarding an assault in the 700 block of Erie Street in Storm Lake. Keyanye knocked a male victim unconscious, then kicked him in the head and punched him in the face while he was unconscious which caused lacerations and bodily injuries.
