Ida Grove Woman Charged in Death of Her Child

An Ida County woman has been charged in the death of her young child earlier this year.

According to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, 23-year-old Billie Mosier of Ida Grove has been charged with one count of Child Endangerment Resulting in Death, a class B felony, as a result of an incident that occurred back on May 4^th. That evening, the Battle Creek Community Ambulance Service responded to the residence at 500 Maple Street in Battle Creek regarding an unresponsive child. Three-year-old Jordan Reed was found to be not breathing, and was transported to Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, and then to the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. Jordan was pronounced dead on May 5^th.

Mosier turned herself in to the Ida County Sheriff’s Office this past Thursday, November 30^th. She was released after posting bond. Mosier’s first court appearance is set for this coming Thursday, December 7^th.
