Grant Helps With Addition of New Storm Lake Police Digital Sign

A new digital information sign has been installed in front of the Storm Lake Police Station.

The sign went into operation last week, and is being used to share information on safety, events, and current community announcements. The sign was made possible in part by grant funding from the Buena Vista County Foundation. The grant provided 25-thousand dollars toward the project. The total estimated cost for the project is 50-thousand dollars.

Storm Lake Police Chief Chris Cole says the applications of the new sign will allow the department to share real-time information in multiple languages related to outreach police events as well as safety tips, missing persons reports, Amber Alerts, snow emergencies, city news, employment opportunities, and various other public service announcements.
