Republican caucus night information has been released for Sac County.
The Sac County caucus on Monday, January 15th will be held at the Ridge View Middle School in Early at 310 West Main Street. Doors will open at 5:30pm. Attendees are advised to be at the site by 6:30 that evening. The doors will close at 7pm.
According to the Republican Party, you can caucus if you are a registered Iowa voter. You must also be a registered Republican voter, or be willing to register as a Republican Voter come Caucus night. Voters must be 18 years of age and have an eligible voter ID.
Unlike a primary election, caucus voting will not be all day. Caucuses will get started around 7pm after caucus-goers fully arrive between 5:30 and 6:30pm. One representative from each campaign is allowed to deliver a short speech in support of their candidate prior to the presidential preference poll. Pieces of paper are then handed out to caucus-goers where they will write their preference for president of the U.S. The papers are then collected, counted, and recorded to the Republican Party of Iowa.
