Primghar Woman Sentenced for Stealing Money From Residents at Care Facility Where She Worked

A Primghar woman who was arrested on several felony charges after being accused of stealing money from several residents at the Pride Group, where she worked, has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

According to criminal complaints, 48-year-old Jennifer Lynn Storm of Primghar was accused of stealing over $23,000 from 21 different residents from November 2020 through March 29, 2023, when she worked as an administrative assistant at Pride Group Primghar. During that time Storm was responsible for the residents’ money. Prosecutors say Storm allegedly used several different techniques to defraud clients.

Storm was charged with ten counts of felony dependent adult abuse, a class D felony, first degree theft, a class C felony, and ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony. In a plea agreement, Storm pleaded guilty in March to one count of theft and two counts of caretaker-dependent adult abuse by exploitation exceeding $100. She was sentenced to five years in prison on the two abuse charges and ten years on the theft charge to be served concurrently. She will be eligible for parole.
