A local project is among those that are receiving funding that was approved today by the Iowa Transportation Commission.
A total of 6.3-million dollars in funding has been approved for six rail infrastructure and related development projects through the Railroad Revolving Loan and Grant Program. The Platinum Crush soybean crushing plant that is under construction between Storm Lake and Alta is getting a 612-thousand dollar grant, and a loan of two-thousand dollars. The soybean crushing plant will create over 50 jobs.
The six projects that were awarded RRLG funding are expected to support the creation and retention of a total of 109 jobs within three years of project completion.
