The goals of the Storm Lake School Board for the upcoming school year include…strengthen communication and stakeholder partnerships…maintain systems district-wide to support academic outcomes and meet student needs…ensure educational excellence and equity for every student…and prepare students to be college and career ready by raising the academic and social emotional learning bar.

The Board members once again nominated Board President Dave Skibsted to serve as their representative on the Iowa Association of School Boards.

The Board approved the annual 28E agreements with Iowa Central Community College.

The agreements allow the district to give high school students the opportunity to take college courses through Iowa Central. Superintendent Dr. Stacey Cole said there are no changes in the agreement, but did issue a reminder that the State Department of Education recently changed the rule, and the college courses are now available for students in all high school grades. They were previously only available to juniors and seniors.
