100 People Who Care Sac County awarded another charity/non-profit serving the area with thousands of dollars. On Sunday, April 13th, the organization voted to give their collective contributions to the Early Achievers 4-H Club for their poured-in-place rubber playground surface project. The surface will be installed at the 3rd Street playground in Early.
Previous recipients have been: Sac Welfare Committee, Howard Center Inc, Early Fire Department, Twilight Acres, Wall Lake American Legion for their Veteran’s Memorial, Odebolt Fire Department, Schaller Fire Department, Lake View Ambulance, Schaller Library, Wheatland Foundation, Grant Park Trail, Brushy Creek Honor Flight, Lake View Library Expansion project, Sac County Fair Board for their livestock show ring/barn project, Lytton Fire Department, Sac County Quilters/Quilts of Valor, Odebolt Specialty Care Auxiliary, Early Public Library, Schaller Ambulance, Nemaha Historical Society, East Sac County Food Pantry, Odebolt Swimming Pool, Lake View Fire Department, East Sac County Music Boosters, Wall Lake Fire Department, Raider Friends Backpack Program, Wall Lake Bandits/Viola Visions 4-H Clubs for the 60+ meals site sanitizer, Odebolt Mat Rats, Lake View Police Department Canine Program, Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency, and Twilight Acres’ boiler project.
The mission of 100 People Who Care Sac County is to award donations to a charity or non-profit serving Sac County. Members nominate possible recipients then three are chosen at random to make a presentation to the group which then casts ballots with the high vote getter receiving all contributions. Each member commits to participating in 100 People Who Care Sac County for a minimum of one year, making $100 donations to the charity or non-profit chosen by the group at the four events. Members can be individuals or teams; there is one vote per $100.
The next meeting of 100 People Who Care Sac County will be Sunday, July 12th beginning at 4pm at the Early United Methodist Church. All are welcome to join and encouraged to attend a meeting to learn more about this charitable organization.
