Final Storm Lake Legislative Forum of This Session Recap

The final 2025 legislative forum in Storm Lake was held this (Sat) morning at King’s Pointe Resort.

Senator Lynn Evans gave an update on the status of this year’s session…

Evans said an updated property tax relief bill was put out this week…

Evans also addressed a question about supplemental state aid and the governor’s proposed budget…

Representative Megan Jones addressed a proposed senate bill that would allow discrimination for foster care providers…

When asked if any local constituents are being held in ICE detention, Senator Evans said he didn’t know of any.

Evans and Jones also addressed questions about bills pertaining to eminent domain, tax increment financing, the grain indemnity fund, human rights, ranked choice voting, and how they both personally approach legislation that may not be theirs, but impacts their constituents.
