Tornado Softball Season Ends With Regional Loss

9th ranked A-D-M defeated Storm Lake 12-4 Saturday night in a class 4A regional semi-final game played at Adel.

Trailing 3-0 after one inning Storm Lake tied the game in the top of the 2nd thanks to a bases loaded walk and Maddy Raveling’s two-run single. The Tigers took the lead right back scoring a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning to make it 4-3. Storm Lake’s Josie Hernandez delivered a run scoring single to tie the game in the top of the 4th. But in the bottom of that inning A-D-M sent 12 batters to the plate and scored eight runs on eight hits.

Avery DeHaan started the game and pitched 3 2/3 innings. Raveling pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed no runs.

Storm Lake had 10 hits in the game led by Hernandez who went 3-for-4. Mackenzie Harder had two hits and scored two runs.

Storm Lake concluded their first winning season since 2009 with a record of 22-5 and graduated two seniors, Hernandez and Molly Coyle.
