Kierra Jungers led three players in double figures with 21 points and McKenna Sievers collected her 500th career assist helping Newell-Fonda defeat Cherokee 72-36 Thursday night at Cherokee. The Mustangs move to 16-1 on the year.
The Cherokee boys went on a 17-0 run in the first half en route to a 84-57 win over the Mustagns. Mason Hoberman scored 14 and Jacksyn Hogrefe added 13 to lead the Mustangs in scoring. Newell-Fonda falls to 9-8 overall.
The Mustang teams will play Friday night at Alta-Aurelia, both games will be broadcast on Mix 101.7FM KAYL.
