The Storm Lake softball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 12-0 victory in five innings tonight (Fri) at OA-BCIG.
The Tornadoes scored eight of their runs with two outs. After the first two batters were set down in the 1st inning, the next seven reached base, and RBI singles by Taylor Ripke and Lillie Hoffman helped Storm Lake to a 4-0 lead.
Storm Lake scored four in the 3rd, including an RBI groundout by Maddy Raveling, and a solo homerun by Josie Hernandez. A four-run 5th featured an RBI single by Ripke, and bases loaded walks to Hoffman and Abby Bodholdt.
Storm Lake had 11 hits, compared to two for OA-BCIG. Kenai Nielsen and Anna Hoffman each singled for the Falcons. Raveling got the win in the circle with five strikeouts and only one walk.
Both teams will be back in action this coming Tuesday, May 31st. Storm Lake will host Webster City, and OA-BCIG (0-2) will be at home to take on Ridge View.
