In a game where 11 turnovers were committed, Ridge View defeated East Sac County 12-3 in Week 2 high school football in Holstein.
Seven of the first eight drives of the game resulted in turnovers within the opening 17 minutes. The Raiders got on the board first with a 31 yard field goal by Luke Wright with four minutes remaining in the 1st half. Ridge View went 67 yards in 13 plays on the ensuing drive. On 4th and goal from the four yard line, Jake Breyfogle threw a touchdown pass to Tracin Price to give the Raptors a 6-3 lead with 28 seconds left in the half, which they carried into the break.
The scored remained the same late in the 4th quarter. Ridge View turned the ball over on downs, giving the Raiders the ball at their 30 yard line with 3:53 left. East Sac picked up one first down, but then went backwards inside their ten yard line. On a 4th down desperation pass play, Price got an interception around the 15 yard line and returned it for a touchdown.
For Ridge View, Caden Biede, Cayden Clausen, and Ethan Mason also had interceptions. East Sac players that picked off passes were Luke Wernimont and Charlie Veit.
Ridge View had 166 yards of offense, and East Sac was held to 66. Kolton Luscombe had 65 yards on 15 carries for the Raptors. Carson Harriman passed for 68 yards, and Breyfogle threw for 32. Luke Wright passed for 34 yards for the Raiders.
Ridge View is now 1-1, and will play at West Monona next week. East Sac (0-2) plays at home next week against OA-BCIG.
