OABCIG Uses Huge Third Quarter to Pull Away from MNWW

It was a battle between the Twin Lakes and Western Valley Conferences in the Boys 2A District Semifinal between Manson NW-Webster and OABCIG, where the Falcons reigned supreme with a 69-39 victory.

The first quarter saw four lead changes by both teams and the Falcons with a slim 8-5 lead after the first. The second quarter, OABCIG showed their physical presence inside, bothering the Cougars. They outscored Manson 18-7 to take a 26-12 lead into half.

Manson came out scoring the first couple of buckets in the third quarter, but the defensive intensity by the Falcons dictacted the rest of the quarter, where they exploded for 29 in the third, with the bench playing much of the fourth to lead to a 30-point win.

OABCIG two seniors Kane Ladwig charged and Beckett DeJean combined for 33 points (19 for Ladwig, 14 for DeJean). For the Cougars, Sophomore Logan Moline had 13 points, Brody Poppen and Kelan Koval finished with eight (8) a piece.

Manson NW-Webster concludes the season 15-8 overall while OABCIG improves to 18-2 and will be awaiting the winner of Kuemper Catholic and Greene County (game will be playing on Saturday at 1pm).
