OA-BCIG’s Season Concludes in District Final

Carroll Kuemper defeated OA-BCIG 7-1 in a 2A baseball district final played Saturday at Merchants Park.

The Falcons scored in the 1st inning when Zach Hemer hit a sacrifice fly that scored Treyton Kolar, who had walked to open the game. Kuemper tied it in the bottom of the 1st on Cal Wanninger’s two-out RBI double.

The 1-1 score held until the 5th when the Knights scored four runs on three RBI singles and a balk. Kuemper scored two more in the 6th to complete the scoring.

The Falcons were held to four hits in the game. Wanninger got the win with six innings pitched, two hits allowed, and ten strikeouts. Easton Harms pitched 4 1/3 innings for OA-BCIG and allowed three runs, two earned. Treyton Kolar finished up on the mound for the Falcons, as their season ends at 9-11. OA-BCIG’s seniors include Harms, Hemer, Max Webb, and Zach Thayer.

Carroll Kuemper improves to 19-16. They’ll play in a substate final on Tuesday.
