Daniel Brotherson, age 60, of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on August 3, 2026.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, in the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, Iowa. Pastor David Wendt will officiate. Private Family committal services will be held in the Westside Cemetery in Westside, Iowa.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, Iowa.

Daniel Allan “B” Brotherson, the son of Allan and Patricia (Kropf) Brotherson, was born on April 17, 1966, in Denison, Iowa. He was welcomed into the Christian faith through Holy Baptism and later affirmed that faith through Confirmation at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, IA, where he remained a lifelong member.
Raised on the family dairy farm south of Wall Lake, Dan developed the values that would define his life; determination, an unwavering work ethic, and the belief that with enough perseverance, any challenge could be overcome. Those early years working alongside his family instilled in him a deep love for farming and a hands-on approach to life. Throughout his school years, he helped on the family farm while also working for Rowedder and Wall Lake Used Parts. Dan graduated from Wall Lake High School with the Class of 1984.
Following graduation, Dan began farming on his own south of Odebolt, pursuing the vocation he loved most. On April 16, 1994, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Faith Davis, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work and were blessed with four daughters: Sena, Sierra, Shianne, and Savannah.
In 2000, Dan began a career with Rohling Construction, which later became Tri-State Paving. Starting as a paving foreman, his dedication, leadership, and exceptional work ethic earned him a promotion to Supervisor. Throughout his career, Dan mastered the paving industry and received numerous industry awards recognizing his craftsmanship and commitment to excellence. He later worked for Blacktop Service before returning to his farming roots and raising cattle.
Most recently, Dan fulfilled another lifelong goal by purchasing his own semi and leasing on with Hoefling Trucking. He genuinely enjoyed waiting for the next load and spending time behind the wheel. Those who knew Dan also knew that being “a little late” usually meant he had become completely absorbed in tackling a project that others might have walked away from. He loved a challenge, took pride in solving problems, and found great satisfaction in seeing a difficult job through to completion.
Above all else, Dan’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted son, loving husband, uncle, proud father, and adoring grandfather. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his beloved grandchildren, Kylar, Rylee, Paiz, Swayzie, and Westyn, creating memories they will cherish forever. Dan was especially excited to welcome two more grandchildren, a baby boy and a baby girl, later this year, a blessing he was eagerly anticipating.
Dan will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, his willingness to help others, his ability to fix just about anything, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy of hard work, determination, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Those left to carry on his legacy are his devoted wife Faith Brotherson of Odebolt, IA, daughters Sena (Lee) Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA, Sierra (Zane “Art” Hanson) Brotherson of Jackson, MN, Shianne (Ross) Schwade of Odebolt, IA, and Savannah (Peyton) Elliott of Huxley, IA; grandchildren: Kylar, Rylee, Paiz, Swayzie, Westyn, and two on the way; mother Patricia “Patti” Brotherson of Breda, IA; brother Chris Brotherson of Breda, IA; sister Annie Brotherson of Wall Lake, IA; and father-in-law G.L. Davis of Arthur, IA; extended family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Allan Brotherson; maternal grandparents Ed and LaMorn Kropf; paternal grandparents Ray and Clara Brotherson; mother-in-law Phyllis Davis; sister-in-law Nici Davis; step father Charles McDonough; and step mother-in-law Marlene Davis.
