Two Storm Lake Juveniles Charged in Ongoing Sexual Assault Case

Two Storm Lake juveniles are facing felony charges following a sexual assault investigation involving a minor.

On Friday, Oct. 10, the Storm Lake Police Department received a delayed report from a child under the age of 14. The victim alleged that between August and October, two male juveniles—ages 13 and 14—entered the child’s residence and committed sexual assault.

Following an investigation, both suspects were charged with second degree sexual assault, a Class B felony. They were taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee YES Center.

Storm Lake Police were assisted in the case by UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s Child Advocacy Center and the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office.

Police say the investigation remains active.
