Two Storm Lake Men Charged in Cayuga Street Drug Bust

Two Storm Lake men have been charged following a drug investigation on Cayuga Street.

Early Thursday morning on Oct. 16, the Storm Lake Police Department responded to reports of a strong marijuana odor in the 700 block of Cayuga Street. Officers traced the source to a residence at 720 ½ Cayuga St., where they say marijuana was observed in plain view.

Police obtained and executed a search warrant, seizing nearly half a pound of marijuana, THC vaping devices, and drug paraphernalia. Thirty-two-year-old Elisah Rumbo was taken into custody at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp—both Class D felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges for possession of a hemp inhalation device and drug paraphernalia.

Later that evening, around 6:45 p.m., police arrested 30-year-old Bryan Rumbo at the same address in connection with the investigation. He faces identical charges.

Both individuals were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held on an $11,300 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
