The Storm Lake Police Department has filed charges against a 17-year-old female following an alleged assault reported at approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Authorities say the teen entered a parked vehicle in the 800 block of Seneca Street without permission and assaulted one of the occupants before fleeing on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.
Later that evening, the juvenile suspect turned herself in at the Storm Lake Police Department.
She faces charges of 2nd degree burglary, a Class C felony, and simple assault. The teen was released to a parent pending a juvenile court appearance.
The Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
