The Storm Lake Fire Department, and Chief Glenn Schlesser will be visiting multiple locations during Fire Safety Week next week in an effort to help residents take common-sense precautions…(audio clip below :36 )
The Storm Lake Fire Department will be at Walmart this coming Monday, October 10th from 4 to 6pm in the front entry area. They’ll be at the Farmers Market on Thursday from 4 to 6pm with a fire truck, and they’ll be at Marcus Lumber in Storm Lake next Friday from 2 to 4pm.
Last week, a mobile home in Storm Lake was completely destroyed due to improper use of a space heater. Schlesser says there are many other common causes of fires…(audio clip below :38 )
Schlesser encourages residents to have at least one fire extinguisher in their home, and install smoke alarms on every level of a home.
