Marathon Hometown Pride will host a combined car show and rib cook‑off this weekend, inviting residents to gather for food, activities and community support during the annual Smoke & Wheels event.
The celebration is set for Saturday at 306 W. Attica St. in Marathon. Rib cook‑off registration begins at 10 a.m., followed by car show registration from 1 to 3 p.m. The car show runs from 2 to 6 p.m., with rib judging scheduled for 3 p.m. A community dinner featuring ribs, pulled pork and hot dogs will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. for a free‑will donation.
Organizers say the event welcomes “anything on wheels,” encouraging residents to bring classic cars, trucks or other vehicles. Kids are also invited to show off bikes, trikes and similar rides. Entry fees for both the rib cook‑off and the car show are $5, with all proceeds supporting community betterment projects in Marathon.
