Witter Gallery Plans Art‑Bee‑Que Cook Off Fundraiser

Witter Gallery is preparing for its Art‑Bee‑Que Cook Off, a community fundraiser set for Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Chautauqua Shelter House in Storm Lake.

The event begins at 5 p.m. and will feature a honey‑themed barbecue competition, live entertainment, on‑site art creation and a fundraising auction supporting the gallery’s programs and operations.

Local cooks are invited to compete using honey from Harley’s Honey of Storm Lake as the required ingredient. Registration is available through Witter Gallery’s Facebook page or by contacting Patricia Hampton at 712-732-927 or Julie Steinfeld at 712-299-3216. Taste testing opens at 5:30 p.m., with attendees serving as judges in the People’s Choice voting. Awards for the top three entries will be presented at 7 p.m.

Guests will also see local artists create original works during the event, with finished pieces and other donated art included in a live auction. Tickets are $30 and limited, with proceeds supporting Witter Gallery’s exhibits, educational programming and community art initiatives.

Local chefs are invited to compete in Witter Gallery’s Art‑Bee‑Que Cook Off in Storm Lake on Sept. 26, featuring honey‑infused barbecue entries judged by attendees. Proceeds from the event will support the gallery’s exhibits, educational programs and community art initiatives. (Photo submitted)
