The Storm Lake Fire Department was dispatched to 115 E. 7th Street for a report of a house fire Saturday at approximately 8:50 a.m. The fire chief was first on the scene, and observed moderate smoke coming from the attic and eves. The response was upgraded to a general alarm for a working fire.
The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes by the first arriving engine company. Alta Fire Department assisted with an engine.
No injuries were reported in the fire. Two firefighters were evaluated by emergency medical personnel on scene due to the extreme heat, but neither required hospitalization.
The fire department indicated that the fire was apparently caused by electrical failure.
