A Peterson man is facing multiple felony charges after police investigated a report of sexual abuse involving a minor earlier this summer.
Storm Lake police say they received the report on July 21, involving a belated allegation of sexual abuse that occurred at a Storm Lake residence in June 2026. The department launched an investigation immediately, working alongside the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the MercyOne Siouxland Child Advocacy Center.
Following that joint investigation, police sought arrest warrants on Monday for the suspect, 35-year-old Christopher Rodriguez. Rodriguez is charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony; lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony; incest, a Class D felony and child endangerment and indecent contact with a child, both aggravated misdemeanors.
Rodriguez was located on the warrants by Sioux City police on Wednesday, where he was taken into custody without incident. He is now awaiting extradition to Buena Vista County.
