The 2nd ranked Newell-Fonda girls basketball team routed visiting Glidden-Ralston 92-21 in a class 1A regional quarter-final game played Tuesday night in Newell. Mary Walker scored 21 points, Kierra Jungers had 19 and thirteen different Mustangs scored as they won their 20th game of the year.
Newell-Fonda made 16 field goals in the first quarter and raced out to a 34-7 lead and never looked back. Glidden-Ralston was led by Tiela Janssen’s ten points as they finish their season 13-11.
The Mustangs, now 20-2, will host the winner of the Baxter/Collins-Maxwell game Friday night at 7pm. The game will be broadcast on 97.5FM KBVU
