Albert City Library to Host Program on Montana State Park

The Albert City Public Library will host a presentation this month highlighting one of Montana’s largest state parks.

Riley Bell, recreation manager at Makoshika State Park in Glendive, Montana, will speak at the library at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.

Bell, who is a native of Laurens, will discuss the history and recreational opportunities available at Makoshika State Park, including its geology, fossils and outdoor activities.

Makoshika is Montana’s largest state park and is known for its badlands landscape and fossil resources. The park includes more than 11,000 acres in eastern Montana.

The program is free and open to all ages. The library says the presentation is intended to be educational for both children and adults, and Bell may also bring items related to the park to share with attendees.

The Albert City Public Library is wheelchair accessible. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
